The Church in Westcott is an active village church, in the heart of the beautiful Surrey Hills. We aim to provide for all ages and traditions and are known for the warmth of our church community, really ‘Building Friendships’ and ‘Sharing Life’ together, within the village of Westcott, and beyond. We are there for all in Westcott, in all seasons of life, as a place for Christening or Thanksgiving services, Weddings and Funerals, offering pastoral care through debt relief counselling or a listening ear. Members of the church provide meals as part of the village Volunteer Meals service, and run the weekly ‘Cookie Club’ parent, baby and toddler group.
We gather each week at 8:30am and 10:15am for Sunday services at Holy Trinity Church, and for an informal, mid-week Communion service at St John’s. Services are also held in the two residential care homes in Westcott. We also have a number of mid-week ‘Life Groups’- small groups who gather either in people’s homes or online, to chat and pray about life and Christian faith. At the heart of all we do is the desire to celebrate and know the God who loves us, through Jesus Christ, in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
Westcott has been served by its two churches since the mid-nineteenth century: Holy Trinity is the Church of England ‘parish church’; St John’s Chapel building, which has a free church tradition, is now owned by Holy Trinity and is used for social/community activities as well as worship and private hire.
We always seek to look beyond our own concerns to the wider world, caring for people and our planet. We value our well-established links with Surrey Hills All Saints Primary School, have strong links with Papua Partners and we’re an Eco Church .
